- The Utilities Savings Program at The Colleges at La Rue
- The Utilities Savings Program at The Colleges at La Rue is a PG&E CARE equivalent program that helps students living at The Colleges at La Rue who pay the PG&E rate but are not eligible for the PG&E CARE program. Following similar eligibility requirements for CARE, qualifying students receive 20% off the utilities portion of their housing bill for the remainder of their lease.

- The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Block Grant is funded by the Federal Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and provides two basic types of services. Eligible low-income persons, via local governmental and nonprofit organizations, can receive financial assistance to offset the costs of heating and/or cooling dwellings, and/or have their dwellings weatherized to make them more energy efficient. A person who participates or has family members who participate in certain other benefit programs, such as SNAP, SSI, TANF, automatically meets the eligibility requirement.
