Check the status of your case

Do you know you can check the status of your case by creating an BenefitsCal.con account? BenefitsCal a one-stop-shop for CalFresh. You can check on your case status, benefit amounts, balance, and submit periodic reports, renewal forms and upload documents within BenefitsCal. To get started, you can

First time users

Before you can check the case status, you need to link the CalFresh case to your account.

  • After login, you can find "Link a Case to Your Account"
  • Enter your Date of Birth and Zip Code as prompted and select a way to find your case

Status of your case

There are a few different status of your case:

Approved Your case has been approved and you should be receiving your benefits for the month.
Pending The county is still processing your case. It could take up to 30 days for the county to process all the documents you submitted.
Discontinued  Your case has been discussed due to a missing document or a missing renewal form.
Denied Your case has been denied. The county will send additional letters and notices to you to explain why your case has been denied.
Inactive Your case has expired and it's time for you to reapply.
