Food Insecurity  
The state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food.

Unhoused/Homeless and Housing Insecurity
Lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. Examples:

  • Sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason.
  • Living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or camping grounds due to the lack of alternative adequate accommodations.
  • Living in emergency or transitional shelters.
  • Abandoned in hospitals.
  • Living in a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not designed for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings.
  • Living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations, or similar settings.

Financial Wellness
The process of learning how to successfully manage financial expenses. Money plays a critical role in our lives and not having enough of it impacts health as well as academic performance. Financial stress is repeatedly found to be a common source of stress, anxiety and fear for college students. 

Mental Wellness
The World Health Organization defines mental health as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.
