SAR-7 Periodic Report

A SAR 7 is a short report that most households must complete to maintain their eligibility for CalFresh Food benefits. Most households will have to complete and submit a SAR 7 by the 6th month of receiving their benefits. The county will usually send the SAR-7 by the 5th month and pause the CalFresh Benefit if nothing is received on the 6th month.

Please note that a complete SAR-7 may contain supporting documents. If the county requested any documents along with the SAR-7, having only the SAR-7 will be considered as incomplete.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need an interview for SAR-7?
  • No. The household only has to submit the report along with verifications of changes.
  • What if I’m not in Yolo County when my SAR-7 is due?
  • Following the online option to complete SAR-7 is the best way.

If you are just away for a few weeks, then you don’t need to update your address. However if your primary address moved to a different address, then you have to update your address so the county can start sending new documents to you or initiate a case transfer to a different county.
  • I forgot to complete SAR-7, should I just reapply again?
  • Not necessarily, you can still turn in your SAR-7 before the 7th month. If SAR-7 is not completed by the 7th month, your case will completely close and you have to reapply again.
